Welcome to the office of John F. Boyle, M.D.!

I am a general Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interests in total and partial replacement arthroplasty (shoulder, hip, and knee); trauma/fractures, both pediatric and adult; and arthroscopy of the knee. I also enjoy providing state-of-the-art treatment for more common orthopedic problems including compression neuropathies (carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.); rotator cuff tears and shoulder pain (work or lifestyle-related injuries); and non-surgical spine disease (degenerative disc disease, arthritis, etc.)

I earned ABOS board-certification in orthopaedic surgery in 1981, and I am a Fellow of the AAOS-American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. I have maintained board-certification since then through continuing education.

My excellent office staff and I will try to provide you, the patient, with the best care possible: compassionate, educational, and thorough--as well as performing the best surgery I am capable of. We do not use PA's to screen patients or to provide all the pre and post op care. I believe in spending time with each patient to ensure that he or she understands the problem and the treatment I recommend, as well as alternatives and expectations. I insist that my patients take part in the decision-making process so that they can have an excellent, predictable outcome.

I grew up in Durango, Colorado, second generation of pioneers to the Four Corners area. I received all my early education first grade through medical school, in Colorado. I have lived in eastern Utah since 1991, and my feet are firmly planted in the inter-mountain west. I like the people, the culture, and the friendliness not found in many other places. Practicing medicine or surgery in Price, Utah, is special--everyone either knows you or about you. Your successes, your failures, and your patients' outcomes and satisfaction soon become public knowledge. I want all my patients to do well so that they and their families can say that they had the best Orthopaedic care possible.
